A Love Story Etched in Alexandrite
At StarlandUS, every custom piece we create carries a story—Macaylin and Sean Crowley’s is one of them. When Sean reached out to us in early 2025, his vision was clear: a ring as unique as the love he shares with his wife. Today, we’re honored to share their journey, in Macaylin’s own words.

From Loose Rings to a Perfect Fit
In 2016, Sean and Macaylin married with simple bands—a practical choice for two young souls building a life together. But nearly a decade later, after losing 70 pounds and becoming a mother, Macaylin's original rings swam on her finger, a literal reminder of how far they had come. That's why they chose to have a new ring.
When StarlandUS's ad for celestial-inspired jewelry appeared on Sean's Facebook feed in March 2025, he knew it was fate. Macaylin, his wife of nearly a decade, had always adored Halloween and all things enchantingly dark—her wardrobe and accessories were a testament to that.
Working closely with our team, Sean selected a breathtaking alexandrite ring, June's birthstone (his own!), known for its mesmerizing color-shifting properties. "I loved how the stone changes in different lighting—just like how our love has evolved over time," Macaylin later shared. From confirming certain aspects of the ring to fine-tuning the design, our team made sure every detail reflected Sean and Macaylin's vision.
A Love Story That Defied Distance—and Timing
Long before the ring, there was a twist of destiny. Sean, a California native, moved to Alabama as a teenager—just minutes from where Macaylin grew up. Yet for years, their lives ran parallel without intersecting. Fate waited until 2015 to introduce them. Both fresh out of difficult relationships, they ended up on the same dating app. "I genuinely didn't think I had a chance," Macaylin admits. "He was so cute and hadn't been on the app in a few months." But she took a leap of faith and messaged him. Sean replied within minutes.Their past heartbreaks had crystallized what they truly wanted—and in each other, they found it. Life accelerated their plans—family circumstances led them to marry quickly in 2016—"but we knew we were both willing to work together to make it work," Macaylin says.
Building a Life—One Adventure at a Time
Their commitment never wavered. Nearly ten years later, the "kids" who married in their early 20s have weathered cross-country trucking hauls in a Freightliner, rescued two cats, and transformed Macaylin's great-grandparents' home into a thriving homestead. Their Alabama property now buzzes with laughter, clucking chickens, a lush garden, and even neighborhood strays who've claimed the Crowleys as their favorite pit stop. Finally, Macaylin said affectionately, "I love you with every breath in my bones."
At StarlandUS, we believe the ring isn’t just jewelry! It’s a reminder of how far we’ve come— maybe the pounds lost, the love grown, the family built. Every love story deserves a symbol as unique as its chapters!
