Bound by the Red String

A Love That Found Its Perfect Time

My name is Gerald Cornejo, and this is the story of how I found my forever. When Tania and I met, we were both divorced and healing. I was raising my two beautiful daughters on my own, and she dreamed of becoming a mother — though we weren’t sure that would ever happen. A mutual friend introduced us, and after countless conversations, we decided to meet for coffee. She had been told I was a single father of two girls. Her response? “That’s not a red flag — that’s a green flag.”

Our first date lasted 15 hours. From that day on, something just felt right.
We took things slow, especially with my daughters. But when they met Tania, she loved them with a warmth and devotion that made it impossible to imagine life without her. A year and a half later, she moved in — and soon after, we were blessed with our miracle: our son.

On Valentine’s Day, I recreated our very first date, ending at the same beach where it all began. Surrounded by our children and family, with petals and music waiting, I asked her to marry me. She said yes.

I believe in the Red String of Fate now. We had lived close to each other for years — maybe even crossed paths before — but it wasn’t our time.

When the time was right, we found each other.

And we built a family out of love, faith, and second chances. 🖤
